So many times we hear more about what people don't like about a product rather than the success they have experienced. I am writing to share my excitement over Transmax. Here is what it has done for me:

I am 60 years old, diagnosed with arthritis in my back, high blood pressure (150/90) fluctuating up and put on high dosage of blood pressure meds that didn't work. My cholesterol LDL level was in the very high range (over 210), and after menopause, I gained sixty pounds for which I could not lose no matter what - I ate less, dieted, tried to exercise, but couldn't do much do the arthritis in my back. I don’t know exactly where to begin, but I’ll start by saying “Thank you”. Your product has already changed my life. I have been going through an extremely difficult past few years and was frequently almost catatonic from PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) for over two years coupled with a form of OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) for most of my life with overwhelming anxiety. I had done nearly everything to try to snap out of it; counseling, supplements, special diets, medication, writing, hypnotherapy, positive affirmations and lots of praying, just to name a few.

I am a 74 year old male. In January, 2008 I was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer which had metastacized to the messentery of the colon. I was first treated with a combination of oral and intravenous chemotherapy. This treatment was discontinued when the tumor did not respond to treatment. Happy Thanksgiving! Biotivia is the thing i'm most thankful for this year!

In April of this year I ordered my first order of "Transmax". After hearing the major news networks raving about the research on the virtues of Trans-reveratrol I did extensive surfing on the internet and found that Biotivia was the company that supplies the major universities and research faclities I decided to try your product above the others. It was no mistake.

I told you then i would write and let you know how it affected me. This letter should have been sent months ago but I just couldn't believe the results!

The first few weeks I noticed stronger body odor and some smelly flagelance. Unusual to me because I am a throat cancer survivor. Doctors removed most of my tongue and I can't swallow any food. My diet is the same every day, Ensure is the only nutriton I put in my body so any change is very noticable. I assume the change in my body's odor was connected with the powerful anti oxidents purging my body's impurities. Then it went badk to normal after a week or so. Toward the end of the first month it seemed I felt a little better.

On The first two days that I took 500mg Transmax I got a low grade fever like when you get a flu shot. I think the Resveratol was reving up my immune system or it caused my white blood cells to react to something in my body and kill it I hope. After two days I was fine, after the first week of taking 500mg Transmax when I was working out on a cross trainer at the gym I was reaching a higher level of speed than I ever did before and I thought the unit was broken. No it wasn't, I was really going that fast and at my age I am over 65.

About my melasma: it is severe. It covers both cheeks and I have a mustache. I have large splotches on my cheeks which break into spots close to the hair line. By this time of the summer, it is so dark that it cannot be covered with makeup. It looks like I have dirt on my face. It bothers me, but I actually can live with it. Quite frankly, I obsess over my weight more than the melasma. But, then, that's a problem for a different forum. I have not proactively tried to treat it, due in large part to reading on this forum the endless futility of other people's attempts to treat it.

Okay. So, back in April, I became very interested in the reports of the remarkable effects of trans-resveratrol for treating just about everything. I have a PhD, I am a researcher/professor at a university. My research isn't in medicine. I am a cognitive scientist. Anyway, I spent many hours on PubMed looking up studies on resveratrol. The bottom line is I am so impressed with it, that I wanted to take it. So, I spent many hours reading about supplements. Purity is important. And the 2 brands that I have purchased and taken because of independent verification of 99% purity are Relentless Improvement (300 mg of trans resveratrol from Polygonum Cuspidatum) and Biotivia's Transmax (500 mg trans resveratrol also from Polygonum Cuspidatum). You can order these products online from the respective company's websites.

The resveratrol is in powder form and comes in capsules. And, it is NOT cheap! I am taking about 1000 mg per day. It was at this dosage that I felt positive effects: I sleep better, have more energy during the day, have lower appetite (I've lost 10 lbs in 3 weeks), and I just feel better. So, one day, I got the idea to break open a 500 mg Biotivia Transmax capsule and mix it in my small 4 oz bottle of Cetaphil's daily moisturizer, which was about 2/3 full. I put about a nickel size amount on my face in the morning and at night. After about a week of doing this, my melasma was fading. There was no peeling, nor irritation of any sort. It simply is fading. I hardly have a mustache. I am in the sun regularly (I ride horses), and I am not good about wearing sunscreen. So, usually my melasma is very pronounced at this point in the summer (I live in IN). But, it's fading. I don't know if it will completely fade. And, I don't know if it is from the cream or my taking 1000 mg of trans-resveratrol per day orally, or both. I think that it is the cream.

I don't know if this experiment of mine will yield the same beneficial effects for anyone else. It would give me enormous pleasure if it helped even just one person. And, I would be thrilled beyond belief if it helped many people. I think that everyone who posts on this forum feels this way.

I will do my best to answer people's questions about what I've been doing, as well as report on the status of my melasma.

UPDATE 3 DAYS LATER ------------

Okay, no more melasma over my upper lip (stache is gone). The melasma on my right cheek has faded more so than on my chin and left cheek, but everything is fading.

I should mention that I am a 43 year old caucasion female. I've never been pregnant, nor on birth control. The melasma became noticeable about 15 years ago.

Usually it takes a few days for me to get my results from the VA but, today (on a Saturday 1 day after the test) my lead diabetes doctors called me with mixed news. My A1c rose by .01 % to 7.9% but they are still happy with that result. The great news is my LDL fell from 199.4 in June to 66. My Tri's fell from 638 to 310 and total cholesterol in June was 329 and this reading was 167. This is great news and in fact the VA contact had been talking to an expert on Resveratrol and indicated that they had used Transmax and Bioforte in their studies and told my VA contact that this and better results are expected. It impressed the VA doctor so much that he is buying some today and starting a daily dosage as well.

Because of complications with diabetes I was strongly considering have an Adult Stem Cell procedure done outside the USA in hopes of turning around my pancreas and kidney problems due to uncontrolled blood sugars and food just was not doing it for me, I was also on the max. amount of diabetes medications the VA would give me.

On March 19, 2000 my fasting sugar was 229 (Very Bad) my Glycosylated HGB (A1C) reading was 9.8% up from 8.5% 01/17/09. My GFR (kidney flow rate) was 50 and Creatinine was 1.4. I watched the 60 minutes special on the benefits of Reseratrol helping to reverse diabetes in mice and the outlook was positive for humans. I ordered one bottle of Biotivia "Transmax" and started taking one pill in the morning and one in the evening.

I had another series of blood tests on June 25, 2009. My fasting sugar had dropped to 150 with the A1C at 8.8%. GFR was 54 and Creatinine was 1.3. I decided to add the "Bio-Forte" to my daily routine and started each morning with one Transmax and one Bio-Forte which would be 750mg followed by another Transmax around 6:00PM and a Bio-Forte at bedtime. This would be 1.5 Grams a day.

On July 29, 2009 a little over a month from the last test and I was shocked at the results. My fasting sugar was 140, my A1C was 7.8%, my GRF was 59 and Creatinine was 1.1. If one knows the reading results/values the fasting sugar should be below 120 and they like it below 100. The A1C should be below 6.5% but the VA has said if I can get under 7.5% they won't quibble. The GFR should be 60+ and the Creatinine between 0.6 and 1.3 for normal readings.

The doctors have reduced two of the four different diabetes medications I have been taking. I have the ability to bend over and touch my toes as before I would have fallen. I have lost 17 pounds since starting the Transmax. I don't strain to get up out of a chair anymore. My daily routine is now one Transmax in the morning and one in the evening.

My next Blood testing will be in about 4 months and I will fill you in on any changes. If it continues downward then I of course will not need the $13,000 Adult Stem Cell procedure. I have passed all of this on to every diabetic I know and all I can say is THANK YOU BIOTIVIA

FYI, My good news update. As you all know I started taking Resveratrol last Feb./March and have provided you with a more or less running To continue as you know my A1c, and daily reading have continued to fall and this time last year my A1c was 9.9% and is now under 7.0% and my daily readings were upwards of 280 and now range from 80 to 115. Of course the kidneys functions are now back within the correct range and I continue to loose weigh. I am down to one diabetes medication a day from 10. I must confess with the good changes I have changed my eating habits, but for the most part Transmax has been my only change so I must give 80% of the credit to Biotivia. I buy thru GNC in my hometown now but I still take two pills daily 1. AM and 1 PM without food. So a big thanks to all of you and I am a new person because of your efforts.

I am a 48 year old professional and I recently received two bottles of Transmax after having seen the positive feedback on the Biotivia site and also on the independent evaluation site www.consumerlab.com. I have taken other brands of Resveratrol for two years and can?t really say I noticed anything negative or positive but Transmax was a totally different experience. I have no idea why it has worked so well but I have found a wide range of unexpected positive effects I can attribute to nothing but the Biotivia product. The first thing I noticed was that I do not have the stiffness in my ankles which was partly the result of injuries due to carelessness riding motorcycles and jet skiing - my dad was right they come back to haunt you! After less than a week of taking Transmax I noticed the problem was suddenly gone and presumed it was a just a good day but I have now had no discomfort in 10 days which is something I have never experienced in years. In my mind the Transmax has to be the causative factor because I have changed nothing else in my diet, supplements or activities. In addition to this I feel a sense of flexibility and well being that I cannot explain either. I am a person who exercises daily so am very aware of what my body feels like and I know there is a big difference I cannot explain.

My partner says maybe its a placebo effect but that makes no sense because I take eleven other supplements and do not tend to think in this way. I am a pretty analytical person and only go on what I feel and in all honesty I was not expecting anything much from Transmax other than pure Resveratrol! The other thing my partner noticed is I am not crashed out by 10.30 after a hard day?s work and I agree on this completrly because I do feel more energetic and less fatigued. Much as this is all a surprise I am certain the Transmax is the primary factor because there are no other possible explanations. I intend to keep taking the two capsules a day (I find one morning and one in the evening works best for me) and will let you know if things improve further. In the meantime thanks for a great product that vastly exceeds expectations in every way.

1) After we started using your products containing Resveratrol. My wife and I both noted (independently) that our shower drain was no longer accumulating hair during showers. Hair loss recurred after 4-5 wks without your products.

2) A toe nail fungus infection, that I wasn't bothering to treat, cleared up after starting to use your products. (and hasn't recurred)

I started taking Transmax a little over a month ago. Although I thought the research on Resveratrol was interesting, I wasn’t confident that I would get a benefit from a Resveratrol pill. Biotivia’s products looked like the most promising ones on the market, though, so I decided to give them a try, and I also sent some to my mom. Within days of starting the pills, my mother was telling me how her workouts are easier, she has more energy, she's losing weight. After at least two years of low energy, frequent headaches, and high stress, she sounded like a different person!
